Dornford Yates was the pseudonym of the British novelist, Cecil William Mercer (August 7, 1885 - March 5, 1960).
Several of Yates's books are in the "Berry" series. The main characters of the Berry Books are the Pleydell family who reside at 'White Ladies' in Hampshire, comprising:
